Adept has developed a reputation as one of the fastest providers of high-quality audio documents in the UK. As with Large-print, audio is a popular format choice for people that have acquired a sight impairment as they do not have to learn new skills to access their information.
After feedback from audio-users we have decided not to use synthesised or electronic audio voices. All of our recording is done by experienced voice-artists to ensure clear and proper pronunciation and ensure audio documents retain a friendly and easy-to-listen style for the end-users.
Our audio has tone-indexing/track-indexing to ensure the recipients can easily navigate to the required section of their documents.
We have in-house recording & mastering facilities. This gives us complete control of audio production allowing us to agree timescales before orders are placed and the ability to easily and promptly provide re-records or post record editing.
We utilise audio-users to advise and inform our production team and quality-check the output.
Our audio is provided on cassette, CD, MP3 or as files for web download/streaming. If you require a media type which is not listed then please contact us.
We offer two main types of audio recording:
Audio letters - These are recorded with a single voice-artist and are not offered with post-record editing for addition of music/jingles, chimes and other audio 'decoration'. However the entire content of your document is provided in clear spoken English in a format that audio-users can access.
Audio brochures - The specification for each Audio brochure varies from client to client. But they can include music, jingles, 'target' voice-artists (e.g. voice-artists of the same demographic/age as intended recipients) and multiple voice-artists. The audio brochure is intended to replicate an attractive printed brochure, information leaflet or marketing document. As these documents would contain pictures, breakouts, splashes and other visual additions this can be replicated on the audio-recording.
Variable data service
We also offer Audio documents on our variable data service, this is best suited to insurance documents, statements, utility bills, marketing info and more. As we have facilities in-house we can quickly record and master documents to ensure they meet your required timescale.
Contact us to find out more or to ask any questions about our variable data service.
Accreditation
We were also the first organisation to be accredited with the Transcription Quality Assessment Scheme Award (TQAS). An award offered by the industry standards body (Formerly COTIS, now UKAAF). This prestigious award demonstrates our commitment to providing high-quality usable audio.
