Residents Improve National Communications
From government documents to church orders of service, Adept makes communication more inclusive
Leighton Buzzard residents are ensuring that disabled people nationwide are included in communications from organisations such as hospitals, banks, government bodies and commercial companies.
Thanks to work done by quality-checkers employed by local disability equality company Adept, letters, newsletters, statements, magazines and business stationery are available in Braille, Large print, Audio and other formats.
Leighton Buzzard magistrate Joan Rampley said ‘I cannot stress how important this work is in improving people’s lifestyles. From a personal perspective, it enables me to review complaints procedures, codes of practice etc. But it also has a more social side. When a friend got married recently Adept were able to provide me with a Braille copy of the order of service.
